TRUTH Seminars

In the early 1990s, I began sorting through and organizing piles of my study notes. Not long into the process, I began to see something taking shape—a book. It wasn’t the kind of book most people would expect, and it wasn’t aimed at the audience most people would imagine.

I titled the work “TRUTH”—the original reason or intent for the creation of anything or anyone. After eight courses and 152 pages, it was complete. At first, we printed and bound every copy in-house. SFTHMin has never sold a book; instead, this work went directly into the prison system.

Our seminars began at 7:00 AM with 100 men gathered in the chapel, continuing until count time at 3:00 PM, for three days straight. Often, we would conduct two seminars back-to-back in different prisons. The sessions blended teaching and worship, and each inmate received their own TRUTH journal. Those who attended at least two of the three days earned a certificate at the seminar’s graduation.

For 14 years, every six months, SFTHMin traveled to Florida to conduct a one-day follow-up for prior students and a three-day seminar for new ones. In that time, we had the privilege of graduating 5,000 students from the Florida prison system.
